Logging rework is smaller in scale than the other reworks we have done. It isn't glamorous, but improves the stability of logs and brings a few features.

Log Policy​

We ended up adding a feature which lets you configure when logs should be sent. You can choose to only send logs where the author of the log event is known. In addition, you can exclude certain roles, channels and members from logs completely.

Log Event Overwrites​

In our old system, logs were limited to one channel per category. Now each individual log event can be set to it's own channel.

Linked Channels​

With logging, we introduced linked channels. You can now use channels that normally don't show up in the channel selector, like threads, for logging. It also allows you to set another Discord server's channels as a log channel.

Message Edit & Delete Content​

You can now configure message delete and edit logs to not contain the message itself. This can be useful if you need to follow privacy laws like GDPR or want to give your members better privacy.

Verification is our oldest module. Monni was initially built as a custom verification bot for a Roblox game faction, and it slowly evolved from there into the multipurpose bot it is today. Verification overall has been a smaller focus in the recent years and has been neglected in terms of features. Well that's not the case anymore, verification now finally supports other platforms than Roblox amongs them Minecraft.

Multi Platform Verification​

As we now have more than one platform to use for verification, we added support to configure which platforms are optional and which are mandatory. You can configure any combination of optional and mandatory platforms. For example you can do the following

Optional Roblox​

Roblox and Minecraft optional verification platforms both give their own channel access through their respective roles. With this, you can ensure the member verifies their account before getting access to the associated chats.

Mandatory Roblox Optional Minecraft​

Let's say you run a Roblox community and want to have a Minecraft community server. You can set Roblox as a mandatory verification platform and Minecraft as an optional one which gives you access to the minecraft community channels.

Captcha​

We brought back the Captcha system that we dropped during the website rework. This time, not as a separate service but as something you can enable to be required during verification.

Extensive API Support​

To continue our journey of making third-party integrations possible, we added API support to get verified account information for servers.

Passporting​

Passporting is one of our more innovative ideas. It lets servers configure which servers can be trusted as a source of truth for verification, letting anybody who verified there skip verification in the server. This can be used when you have one hub server and then other servers people may join.

Banning External Accounts​

This is a feature many have requested: you can now make bans also ban external accounts. This stops a banned member from joining with an alt and verifying with the same account.

We have all seen Discord spam bots, either in our direct messages or servers we frequent. They are more than annoying. Perhaps you or your friend has fallen for them in the past. We can't promise to stop these bots from joining your server or messaging you, but we can detect them and automatically delete the messages.

Introducing Monni's Anti Bot module​

Our Anti Bot module provides the tools a server owner may need to combat the ever increasing wave of spam bots. We detect common behaviours of bots and react in a way based on how you configure the security metrics. To get started,

Discord has support for timestamps which are shown in users own local time and are automatically translated to their language.

Reaction roles (or Reaction Buttons, to be exact) are officially back! While they were a staple of our old website we weren't able to include them in the rework of website. We've have now brought them back shinier than ever before with more control and customization.

Why reaction buttons​

Most Discord bots support "classic" reaction roles (using emoji reactions), but they often feel clunky, old and are prone to failure. By shifting to button based roles we opened the door for greater creative control, reliability and visually appealing server setups.

New Features & Customization​

We didn't just bring reaction roles back; we couldn't resist the temptation to make them better. Here are the major changes.

We didn't plan to do another point update so soon, but we felt that the last update had a few flaws and issues which we couldn't ignore. One big one was the embed editor which had some design flaws, and due to discord adding components V2 midway through our effort on creating the editor, we decided to rewrite it from the ground up. The new editor now has support for our new variable selector, which should make using variables multiple times easier. It also makes it possible to use loops and buttons. This was a big step forward as now all the commands can be rendered in the editor. Below are some of the new additions.

What are Monni boosts?​

Monni boosts are ways to multiply point gain for a member. We give boosts if people meet requirements, such as boosting a server or having a role. 

Using Boosts with Monni​

First you’ll want to head over to your dashboard and choose the server you’d like to add boosts too. 

Now, click on the points module. 

You’ll now be able to see the “boosts section” on the top navbar. Give that a click. 

To create a boost, you’ll want to click the “add boosts” button. We’re now granted with a menu for editing our boost. There are three sections.

Uploading an animated emoji requires discord Nitro. You’ll want a gif for the emoji and it's recommended to stay below 128px128p.

1. First head on over to the settings section in your server. 

2. Click the emoji’s section. You’ll now see the button to upload your gif.

3. Now, just upload the gif you’d like to have as your animated emoji. 

Using animated emojis without Nitro​

If you're like Monni and live the pond life you might be considering using free methods of posting animated emojis. This part of the guide will teach you an easy way to do so.

There are many useful things that require enabling developer mode. One common one is the ability to get server IDs.

1. To begin, head over to your user settings page. This is below channels on desktop, and on mobile to the top right in your profile.

   

2. Now that you’re in settings, head down to the “advanced” category. Now give it a click.

   

3. You should be able to see a slider for developer mode in here. Simply enable it.

You’re now fully sorted for your developer mode needs. Go crazy!

Getting an Emoji ID is actually very easy, and useful to know how to do. ID's can only be gotten from custom made emojis.

1. Start by heading to the the discord guild with the emoji's that you'd like to get the ID of. Now find a channel where you can chat.

2. Type into the chat the backslash " \ " character.

3. Now, just type the custom emoji you'd like right after it. The ID will appear to the rightmost part of your message.

You now have your Emoji ID! Use for all your niceties.
